Sifu in February issue of Inside Kung Fu magazine
I'd like to make you aware of this piece of news taken from the Shaolin Wahnam Institute forum ( www.wongkiewkit.com/forum ):
“Sifu has an article featured in this issue on page 66! It is a very interesting article with great photos and is on the newsstands in the USA now. I'm not sure when it makes it to other countries. Please pick up a souvenir copy of the first issue in which Sifu appears. You may also want to subscribe to the magazine so you don't miss other upcoming articles by Sifu. It is a well written publication.
If you like the article please write to Inside Kung Fu as listed on page 10 of the issue to let them know.”
Thank you to Sifu Anthony Spinnicchia for successfully organising this event.
Calling all Tai Chi Chuan Students
I recently discovered this page on Sifu's webpage ( www.shaolin.org ). As a Shaolin Kung Fu practitioner I was simply staggered by the information it contains, here's an example:
“It is also significant to note that in Taijiquan, originally it was chi flow that generated forms, and not performing forms in the hope of generating chi flow, as many modern practitioners do, or hope to do”
I've downloaded the videos mentioned on this page and intend to learn this set myself! If you're a Tai Chi Chuan student you can't afford to miss the information in this article.
3 Nations Gathering
And finally... for all current Shaolin Wahnam students, remember that the 3 Nations Gathering is taking place in Brighton on 21 st and 22 nd of January 2006. 2006 Your Best Year Yet!
Like many of you at this time of year, I have been giving great thought to the future. Making plans and looking for ways to build on the successes and lessons of 2005. What plans have you been making?
Do you want to?
- Overcome health problems?
- Manage the stress in your life more elegantly?
- Increase your vitality and zest for life?
- Take back responsibility for your health and well being?
If you have any of these aims on your list of goals for 2006 then Shaolin Cosmos Chi Kung is the answer. Life is a meaningful flow of energy. Shaolin Cosmos Chi Kung uses gentle relaxed movements to generate an internal flow of energy. Most schools of Chi Kung today only focus on the external movements, neglecting the energy flow aspect. This is unfortunate because it is the flow of energy (or Chi) that removes blockages (the cause of illness and dis-ease from a Traditional Chinese Medicine viewpoint) and promotes health and well being. Perhaps one of the most remarkable things about Shaolin Cosmos Chi Kung is that the same exercises that are used to overcome illness can also be used to prevent illness if you are already healthy! This makes Chi Kung therapy unique. Shaolin Cosmos Chi Kung cures a person if they are ill, but if they are healthy the same chi kung exercises will keep them continually healthy! Incredible, but true.
By practicing Shaolin Cosmos Chi Kung from an authorised instructor you will learn the once jealously guarded secret of how to generate an energy flow.
Or, perhaps you want to:
- Improve your health and vitality
- Learn a martial art that is more than just self defence
- Take part in an art that focuses on co-orporation rather than domination
- Have fun whilst you exercise
- Learn an Eastern art that not only helps you to relax, but teaches you skills and techniques to defend you and your loved ones.
If any of these sound appealing, and your dedicated then Shaolin Kung Fu is the answer.
A lot of precious time and money is wasted by people in the search to find new ways to stay fit and healthy, when instead they would be much better off if they did what the Emperors, Generals and Monks did in China for over 1500 years: practice Shaolin Kung Fu. Many martial art schools these days concentrate on teaching you numerous ways to inflict injuries and pain on others and as a result Martial Arts generally carry with them a macho image. Instead martial arts schools should be teaching you ways to defend yourself safely, how to overcome injuries, how to use your new found skills for work, play and health and encourage you to have fun whilst learning. Shaolin Wahnam instructors teach you ways to enhance your life and vital energy, not destroy it. The skills you will learn will only enhance with time not diminish with age as they do will most other martial sports and arts.
So what's the next step you need to take to make your goals a reality?
